The Police and Crime Commissioner Elections (Returning Officers’ Accounts) (Amendment) Regulations 2016

The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster makes the following Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by section 55(10) of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011( 1 ).

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Police and Crime Commissioner Elections (Returning Officers’ Accounts) (Amendment) Regulations 2016.

(2) They come into force on 4th May 2016.

2. —(1) Amend the Police and Crime Commissioner Elections (Returning Officers’ Accounts) Regulations 2012( 2 ) as follows.

(2) In regulation 2 (interpretation), in the definition of “Accounting Officer”, for “Home Office” substitute “Cabinet Office”.

(3) In regulation 4 (time for submission of accounts), for “8” substitute “6”.

2011 c. 13 ; powers conferred on the Secretary of State under section 55 are exercisable concurrently with the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster by virtue of S.I. 2015/1526 (which also made consequential amendments to section 55 to reflect that). These powers may only be exercised by the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster so far as they relate to an election the poll for which is on or after 1st May 2016.
