The Modern Slavery Act 2015 (Commencement No. 5) Regulations 2016

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 61(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015( 1 ), makes the following Regulations.
In accordance with section 61(4) of that Act, the Secretary of State has consulted the Scottish Ministers, so far as the provisions brought into force by these Regulations extend to Scotland, and the Department of Justice in Northern Ireland, so far as the provisions brought into force by these Regulations extend to Northern Ireland.
Citation
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (Commencement No. 5) Regulations 2016.
Provisions coming into force on 8th August 2016
2. The following provisions of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 come into force on 8th August 2016—
(a) section 35 (enforcement powers in relation to ships: England and Wales);
(b) section 36 (enforcement powers in relation to ships: Scotland);
(c) section 37 (enforcement powers in relation to ships: Northern Ireland);
(d) section 39 (interpretation of Part 3); and
(e) Schedule 2 (enforcement powers in relation to ships), insofar as it relates to powers exercisable under sections 35, 36 and 37.
