The Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015 (Commencement No. 5) Order 2016

The Lord Chancellor makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 95(1) and (6)(a) of the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015( 1 ).

Citation and interpretation

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015 (Commencement No. 5) Order 2016.

(2) In this Order, “the Act” means the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015 .

Provisions of the Act coming into force on the day after this Order is made

2. The following provisions of the Act come into force on the day after this Order is made—

(a) section 68(1) (upper age limit for jury service to be 75), so far as it relates to section 68(3) of the Act; and

(b) section 68(3).

Provisions of the Act coming into force on 1st December 2016

3. The following provisions of the Act come into force on 1st December 2016—

(a) section 68(1), so far as it is not already in force; and

(b) section 68(2).
