The Welfare Reform Act 2009 (Commencement No. 10) Order 2016

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 61(3) and 61(4) of the Welfare Reform Act 2009( 1 ).

In accordance with section 61(5) of that Act, the Secretary of State has consulted the Registrar General for England and Wales before making this Order.

Citation

1. This Order may be cited as the Welfare Reform Act 2009 (Commencement No. 10) Order 2016.

Appointed day

2. 19th September 2016 is the day appointed for the following provisions of the Welfare Reform Act 2009 to come into force—

(a) section 56 (registration of births) in so far as it relates to the entries in Schedule 6 to that Act set out in paragraph (b); and

(b) paragraphs 1 and 17 of Schedule 6.
