The Assisted Areas (Amendment) Order 2017

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1(1), (3), (4) and (7) of the Industrial Development Act 1982( 1 ):

Citation, commencement and interpretation

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Assisted Areas (Amendment) Order 2017 and comes into force on 16th March 2017.

(2) In this Order, “the 2014 Order” means the Assisted Areas Order 2014 ( 2 ).

Amendment of the 2014 Order

2. —(1) In Schedule 1 to the 2014 Order (Tier 1 Areas)—

(a) after “Cornwall” insert—

(b) after “Isles of Scilly” insert—

(2) In Part 2 of Schedule 2 to the 2014 Order (Non-predefined Tier 2 Areas) omit—

(a) from “The following electoral divisions in the local authority area of County Durham—” to “Sadberge and Whessoe”;

(b) from “The following wards in the local authority area of Hartlepool—” to “University”;

(c) from “The following wards in the local authority area of Redcar and Cleveland—” to “Westworth”;

(d) from “The following wards in the local authority area of Stockton-On-Tees—” to “Western Parishes”.
