The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 28(2)(b) of the Welfare Reform Act 2007( 1 ).
In accordance with section 173(1) of the Social Security Administration Act 1992( 2 ), the Secretary of State has obtained the agreement of the Social Security Advisory Committee that proposals in respect of these Regulations should not be referred to it.
Citation, commencement and extent
1. β(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Employment and Support Allowance (Consequential Amendment) (Police Injury Benefit) Regulations 2017 and come into force on 10th February 2017.
(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales.
Consequential amendment to the Police (Injury Benefit) Regulations 2006
2.The Police (Injury Benefit) Regulations 2006( 3 ) are amended as follows.
3. After paragraph 7(3)(c) of Schedule 3, insertβ
β (d) any employment and support allowance under sections 1(2)(a) or 1B of the Welfare Reform Act 2007 ( 4 ) . β .

2007 c. 5 ; section 1(2)(a) was amended by section 147 of, and Part 1 of Schedule 14 to, the Welfare Reform Act 2012 (c. 5) . Section 1B was amended by sections 33(3) and 147 of, and paragraphs 22 and 26(b) of Schedule 3 and Part 1 of Schedule 14 to, the Welfare Reform Act 2012.
