Coming into force in accordance with article 1

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3(6)(a) of the Terrorism Act 2000( 1 ).

In accordance with section 3(6)(a) of that Act, the Secretary of State believes that the organisation listed as National Action in Schedule 2 to that Act is operating wholly or partly under names that are not specified in that Schedule (whether as well as or instead of under the specified name).

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Proscribed Organisations (Name Change) (No. 2) Order 2017 and comes into force on the day after the day on which it is laid before Parliament.

Name change

2. —(1) Each of the names specified in paragraph (2), being names that are not specified in Schedule 2 to the Terrorism Act 2000 (proscribed organisations), is to be treated as another name for National Action, being an organisation listed in that Schedule( 2 ).

(2) Those names are—

(a) Scottish Dawn,

(b) NS131 (National Socialist Anti-Capitalist Action).

National Action was added to Schedule 2 to the Terrorism Act 2000 by article 2 of S.I. 2016/1238 . Other amendments to Schedule 2 to the Terrorism Act 2000 are not relevant.
