The Investigatory Powers Act 2016 (Commencement No. 10 and Transitional Provision) Regulations 2018

The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 270(2) and 272(1) of the Investigatory Powers Act 2016( 1 ).

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Investigatory Powers Act 2016 (Commencement No. 10 and Transitional Provision) Regulations 2018.

The appointed day

2.Section 242 (right of appeal from Tribunal) comes into force on 31st December 2018.

Transitional provision

3.Section 67A of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (appeals from the Tribunal)( 2 ) does not apply to any determination or decision of the Investigatory Powers Tribunal made before 31st December 2018.
