The Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 (Powers of Seizure) Order 2018

Coming into force in accordance with article 1

The Secretary of State makes this Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 69(1)(a) of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001( 1 ).

In accordance with section 69(2) of that Act the Secretary of State has consulted the Scottish Ministers.

In accordance with section 69(3) of that Act a draft of this Order was laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 (Powers of Seizure) Order 2018 and comes into force on the twenty-first day after the day on which it is made.

Amendment to the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001

2. At the end of Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001( 2 ) (powers of seizure to which section 50 of that Act applies), insertβ€”

β€œ The Electricity and Gas (Market Integrity and Transparency) (Enforcement etc. ) Regulations 2013 ( S.I. 2013/1389 )

73S. The power of seizure conferred by regulation 16(4) of the Electricity and Gas (Market Integrity and Transparency) (Enforcement etc.) Regulations 2013 (entry to premises for purposes of investigation by Gas and Electricity Markets Authority). ” .
