The Armed Forces Act 2016 (Commencement No. 2) Regulations 2018

The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 19(1) of the Armed Forces Act 2016( 1 ).

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Armed Forces Act 2016 (Commencement No. 2) Regulations 2018.

Commencement

2. Section 2 (commanding officer’s power to require preliminary alcohol and drugs tests) of the Armed Forces Act 2016 comes into force—

(a) on the day after the day on which these Regulations are made for the purpose only of conferring power to make regulations under section 93AA(2) to (4) of the Armed Forces Act 2006( 2 ) (section 93A: interpretation); and

(b) on 1st January 2019 in so far as it is not already in force.
