Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1
The Minister for the Cabinet Office makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 8(1), 23(1) and (6) and 24(3) of, and paragraph 21(b) of Schedule 7 to, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018( 1 ).
In accordance with paragraphs 1(3), 15(1) and 16(1) and (2) of Schedule 7 to that Act, a draft of this instrument has been laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Parliamentary Elections Etc. (Repeal, Revocation, Amendment and Saving Provisions) (United Kingdom and Gibraltar) (EU Exit) (Amendment) Regulations 2019 and come into force on the day after the day on which they are made.
Amendment of the European Parliamentary Elections Etc. (Repeal, Revocation, Amendment and Saving Provisions) (United Kingdom and Gibraltar) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018
2. —(1)The European Parliamentary Elections Etc. (Repeal, Revocation, Amendment and Saving Provisions) (United Kingdom and Gibraltar) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018( 2 ) are amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 1, for “exit day” substitute “31st December 2020”.
(3) In regulation 6, for “after exit day” substitute “on and after 31st December 2020”.
