The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by section 21(3) of the Business and Planning Act 2020( 1 ) (“the 2020 Act”).
The Secretary of State considers it reasonable to substitute the date specified in section 21(2) of the 2020 Act with a later date in order to mitigate an effect of coronavirus( 2 ).
A draft of this instrument has been laid before, and approved by a resolution of, each House of Parliament pursuant to section 23(6) of the 2020 Act.
Citation and commencement
1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Business and Planning Act 2020 (London Spatial Development Strategy) (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2020.
(2) These Regulations come into force on the day after the day on which they are made.
Amendment of the Business and Planning Act 2020
2. In section 21(2) of the Business and Planning Act 2020 (Mayor of London’s spatial development strategy: electronic inspection), for “31 December 2020” substitute “31 December 2021”.

“Coronavirus” has the meaning given by section 21(4) of the Business and Planning Act 2020 (c.16) .
