1989 c. 37 . Section 14 was substituted by paragraphs 1 and 2 of Schedule 1 to the Football (Disorder) Act 2000 (c. 25) (“the 2000 Act”) and amended by section 103(1) and (2)(a) of the Policing and Crime Act 2009 (c. 26) (“the 2009 Act”). Section 27(6) of the Football Spectators Act 1989 (“the 1989 Act”) provides that the 1989 Act extends to England and Wales only (section 27(6) was amended by paragraph 1 of Schedule 3 to the Sports Grounds Safety Authority Act 2011 (c. 6) ). However, section 105(1) of the 2009 Act provides that sections 14J(1), 19(6) and 20(10) of the 1989 Act extend to Scotland and Northern Ireland (section 14J was substituted by paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 to the 2000 Act and section 20(10) was amended by paragraph 15(e) of Schedule 2 to the 2000 Act). The control period for the Tournament is relevant to the enforcement in Scotland and Northern Ireland of the offences under sections 14J(1), 19(6) and 20(10) of the 1989 Act.
