The Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (Commencement No. 14) Order 2020

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1) of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012( 1 ), makes the following Order. In accordance with section 77(10) of that Act, a draft of this instrument was laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.

In accordance with section 77(2) of that Act, the Secretary of State has previously made a piloting order( 2 ).

Citation

1. This Order may be cited as the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (Commencement No. 14) Order 2020.

Commencement

2. Section 76 (Alcohol abstinence and monitoring requirement) of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 comes into force on the 21st day after the day on which this Order is made.
