The Registration of Births and Deaths (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2020

Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1

The Registrar General, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 5 and 39 of the Births and Deaths Registration Act 1953( 1 ), with the approval of the Secretary of State, makes the following Regulations.

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Registration of Births and Deaths (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 and come into force on the day after the day on which they are made.

Amendment of the Registration of Births and Deaths Regulations 1987

2. In the Registration of Births and Deaths Regulations 1987( 2 ), in regulation 9(1) (entry of particulars on registration)( 3 ), omit “in the presence of the informant”.
