The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by section 47(5) of the Road Traffic Act 1988( 1 ).

The Secretary of State, in accordance with section 195(2) of that Act, has consulted such representative organisations as the Secretary of State thinks fit.

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Tests) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) (No. 2) Regulations 2020 and come into force on 31st July 2020.

Amendment to the Motor Vehicles (Tests) Regulations 1981

2. In regulation 6(1B)(a) of the Motor Vehicles (Tests) Regulations 1981( 2 ) for “before 31st March 2021” substitute “before 2nd August 2020”.

Amendment to the Motor Vehicles (Tests) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2020

3. In regulation 1(3) of the Motor Vehicles (Tests) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2020( 3 ) for “30th September 2021” substitute “1st February 2021”.
