The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 4(3) of the Immigration Act 1971( 1 ).

Citation, commencement and extent

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Immigration (Registration with Police) (Revocation) Regulations 2022 and come into force on 9th November 2022.

(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Revocation

2. The Immigration (Registration with Police) Regulations 1972( 2 ) are revoked.

Requirements imposed before these Regulations come into force

3. Any condition requiring a person to register with the police which—

(a) was imposed under the Immigration Act 1971 before the date on which these Regulations come into force, and

(b) requires a person to comply with the requirements as set out in the Immigration (Registration with Police) Regulations 1972,

ceases to have effect when these Regulations come into force.
