The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 205(5) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995(1), makes the following Regulations.

Citation, commencement and extentI1

1.β€”(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Light Dues) (Amendment) Regulations 2022 and come into force on 1st April 2022.

(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Amendment to the Merchant Shipping (Light Dues) Regulations 1997I2

2. In paragraph 3(1A)(g)(2) of Part II (scale of payments) of Schedule 2 to the Merchant Shipping (Light Dues) Regulations 1997(3)β€”

(a)after β€œ2021” insert β€œand before 1st April 2022”; and

(b)after β€œvoyage” insertβ€”

β€œ;

(h)on or after 1st April 2022, 41 pence per ton subject to a maximum charge of Β£16,400 per voyage.”
