The Armed Forces and Reserve Forces (Compensation Scheme) (Amendment) Order 2022

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1(2) of the Armed Forces (Pensions and Compensation) Act 2004( 1 ).

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Armed Forces and Reserve Forces (Compensation Scheme) (Amendment) Order 2022 and comes into force on 11th April 2022.

Amendment of the Armed Forces and Reserve Forces (Compensation Scheme) Order 2011

2. The Armed Forces and Reserve Forces (Compensation Scheme) Order 2011( 2 ) is amended in accordance with articles 3 to 5.

Amendment of article 24A

3. In article 24A (award of armed forces independence payment)( 3 ), in paragraph (3), for “£152.15” substitute “£156.90” .

Amendment of article 24D

4. In article 24D (payment of armed forces independence payment in respect of Motability)( 4 ), in paragraph (2), for “£62.55” substitute “£64.50” .

Amendment of Schedule 3

5. —(1) Schedule 3 (the tariff and supplementary awards), Part 1 (descriptors, tariff levels and amounts – “the tariff”) is amended as follows.

(2) In Table 1 (burns)( 5 ) for the entry in column (b) (description of injury and its effects (“descriptor”)) in respect of item 9, after “4.5” insert “%” .

(3) In Table 9 (musculoskeletal disorders)( 6 ) for the entry in column (b) (description of injury and its effects (“descriptor”)) in respect of item 16D, after “shoulder” insert “, elbow” .
