The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by section 4(3) of the Terrorism Act 2000( 1 ).

Citation, commencement and extent

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Proscribed Organisations (Applications for Deproscription etc.) (Amendment) Regulations 2022.

(2) These Regulations come into force on 12th May 2022.

(3) These Regulations extend to the United Kingdom.

Amendment to the Proscribed Organisations (Applications for Deproscription etc.) Regulations 2006

2. —(1) The Proscribed Organisations (Applications for Deproscription etc.) Regulations 2006( 2 ) are amended as follows.

(2) For regulation 5 (address for sending or delivery), substitute—

5. —(1) Subject to paragraph (2), an application must be sent or delivered to the Proscription Team, Homeland Security Group, Home Office, 2 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DF.

(2) Where the organisation to which the application relates is an organisation proscribed by reason of being concerned in terrorism ( 3 ) connected with the affairs of Northern Ireland, an application must be sent or delivered to the Proscription Team, Security and Protection Group, Northern Ireland Office, Erskine House, 20 – 32 Chichester Street, Belfast BT1 4GF. .

Terrorism ” has the meaning in section 1(1) of the Terrorism Act 2000, as amended by the Terrorism Act 2006 (c. 11) and Counter-Terrorism Act 2008 (c. 28) .
