The Fire Safety Act 2021 (Commencement) (England) Regulations 2022

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred by section 4(2)(a) of the Fire Safety Act 2021( 1 ), makes the following Regulations.

Citation, extent and application

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Fire Safety Act 2021 (Commencement) (England) Regulations 2022.

(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales.

(3) These Regulations apply in relation to premises( 2 ) in England only.

Appointed day

2. The day appointed for the coming into force of section 1 of the Fire Safety Act 2021 is 16th May 2022.

Premises for these purposes is defined in article 2 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 ( S.I. 2005/1541 ).
