The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 12(1) and 32A(3) of Regulation (EU) 2015/2283 of the European Parliament and of the Council on novel foods, etc.( 1 ).
Citation, commencement, extent and application
1. β(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Novel Foods (Authorisations) and Smoke Flavourings (Modification of Authorisations) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2022 and come into force on 29th June 2022.
(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales, but apply in relation to England only.
Amendment of the Novel Foods (Authorisations) and Smoke Flavourings (Modification of Authorisations) (England) Regulations 2022
2. β(1)The Novel Foods (Authorisations) and Smoke Flavourings (Modification of Authorisations) (England) Regulations 2022( 2 ) are amended as follows.
(2) In Schedule 3β
(a) in the entry for β3β-Sialyllactose (3β-SL) sodium salt (microbial source) β, in the third column, after β Maximum levels β insert β (expressed as 3β-Sialyllactose) β ;
(b) in the entry for β6β-Sialyllactose (6β-SL) sodium salt (microbial source) β, in the third column, after β Maximum levels β insert β (expressed as 6β-Sialyllactose) β .
(3) In Schedule 7, in the entry for β6β-Sialyllactose (6β-SL) sodium salt (microbial source) β, in the second column, in the words above the heading β Source: β, for β6β-sialy-llactuloseβ substitute β6β-sialyl-lactuloseβ .
