The Elections Act 2022 (Commencement No. 1 and Saving Provision) Regulations 2022

The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 67(1) and (4) of the Elections Act 2022( 1 ).

Citation and interpretation

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Elections Act 2022 (Commencement No. 1 and Saving Provision) Regulations 2022.

(2) In these Regulations, “ the Act ” means the Elections Act 2022.

Provisions coming into force on 19th August 2022

2. Sections 16, 17, 18 and 19 of the Act come into force on 19th August 2022.

Saving provision

3. The amendment made by section 17(2) of the Act does not apply in relation to evidence given before the coming into force of that section.
