The Response to the Committee on Climate Change Report (Extension of Period) Order 2023

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 37(5) and 90(3)(a) of the Climate Change Act 2008( 1 ), makes the following Order.

Citation, commencement and extent

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Response to the Committee on Climate Change Report (Extension of Period) Order 2023 and comes into force on 14th October 2023.

(2) This Order extends to the United Kingdom.

Extension of the period for the response to the Committee on Climate Change’s 2023 report

2. —(1) The Secretary of State’s response under section 37 of the Climate Change Act 2008 to the Committee’s( 2 ) 2023 report must be laid before Parliament not later than 31st October 2023.

(2) In this article, the “ Committee’s 2023 report ” means the report of the Committee under section 36 of the Climate Change Act 2008 laid before Parliament on 28th June 2023.
