The King’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

His Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 113(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006( 1 ), is pleased, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to order as follows:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills Order 2023 and comes into force on 1st January 2024.

Appointment to the Office of His Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills

2. Sir Martyn Ellis Oliver is appointed to the office of His Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills for a period of 5 years from 1st January 2024.

Revocation

3. The Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills Order 2021( 2 ) is revoked.
