The Animals (Penalty Notices) Act 2022 (Commencement) Regulations 2023

The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by section 9(3) of the Animals (Penalty Notices) Act 2022( 1 ).

Citation and extent

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Animals (Penalty Notices) Act 2022 (Commencement) Regulations 2023.

(2) They extend to England and Wales.

Provisions coming into force on 1st January 2024

2. The following provisions of the Animals (Penalty Notices) Act 2022 come into force on 1st January 2024—

(a) in section 1 (powers of enforcement authorities), subsections (1) and (6);

(b) in section 2 (powers of constables), subsections (1) and (4);

(c) section 3 (content and effect of notices);

(d) in section 4 (matters to be taken into account), subsections (1), (2) and (5);

(e) section 5 (use of proceeds);

(f) section 6 (reports).
