His Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Him by section 1(1), (4A) and (4B) of the Consular Fees Act 1980( 1 ), is pleased, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to order as follows:
Citation, commencement and extent
1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Consular Fees (Amendment) Order 2023 and comes into force on 1st January 2024.
(2) This Order extends to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Amendment of the Consular Fees Order 2012
2. —(1) The table in Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the Consular Fees Order 2012( 2 ) (Table of general consular fees) is amended as follows.
(2) For Fee 1 (legalising a signature or seal) substitute—

1980 c. 23 . Subsections (4A) and (4B) were inserted by section 36 of the Identity Cards Act 2006 (c. 15) and continue to have effect by virtue of section 1(3) of the Identity Documents Act 2010 (c. 40) subject to the consequential amendment made by paragraph 2 of the Schedule to that Act.
S.I. 2012/798 . The Table of General Consular Fees was substituted by S.I. 2016/373 .
