The Public Order Act 2023 (Commencement No. 3) (England and Wales) Regulations 2023

The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by section 35(5) of the Public Order Act 2023( 1 ).

Citation and extent

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Public Order Act 2023 (Commencement No. 3) (England and Wales) Regulations 2023.

(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales only.

Commencement

2. The following provisions of the Public Order Act 2023 come into force on 20th December 2023—

(a) section 10 (powers to stop and search on suspicion);

(b) section 11 (powers to stop and search without suspicion);

(c) section 12 (further provisions about authorisations and directions under section 11);

(d) section 13 (further provisions about searches under section 11) to the extent it is not already in force;

(e) section 14 (offence relating to section 11).
