The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5(3) and (4) of the Social Security (Additional Payments) Act 2023( 1 ).

Citation, commencement and extent

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Disability Additional Payment Day) Regulations 2023 and come into force on 13th June 2023.

(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Disability additional payments: qualifying day

2. 1st April 2023 is the disability additional payment day for the purpose of the disability additional payments under section 5 of the Social Security (Additional Payments) Act 2023.
