The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 18(3) and 19(5) of Council Regulation (EC) No 338/97 of 9 December 1996 on the protection of species of wild fauna and flora by regulating trade therein( 1 ).
Citation, commencement and extent
1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (Council Regulation (EC) No 338/97 ) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 and come into force on 25th November 2024.
(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Amendments to the Annex to Council Regulation (EC) No 338/97
2. The Annex to Council Regulation (EC) No 338/97 of 9 December 1996 on the protection of species of wild fauna and flora by regulating trade therein( 2 ) is amended in accordance with regulations 3 and 4.
Amendments relating to FAUNA in Annex C
3. —(1) Under the heading “SAURIA”, in the text of the rows relating to Gekkonidae, immediately above the row relating to “ Carphodactylus laevis (III Australia)” insert—
