The Lord Chancellor makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 2(3) and 41(1)(a) and (b) and (2)(a) and (b) of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012( 1 ).
Citation, commencement and extent
1. β(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Criminal Legal Aid (Remuneration) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2024 and come into force on 5th December 2024.
(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales.
Amendment to the Criminal Legal Aid (Remuneration) (Amendment) Regulations 2024
2. β(1)The Criminal Legal Aid (Remuneration) (Amendment) Regulations 2024( 2 ) are amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 2(5) (amendments to the Criminal Legal Aid (Remuneration) Regulations 2013( 3 )), in the table headed βHigher and Lower Standard Fees tableβ following sub-paragraph (5) of inserted paragraph 5B (representation in the youth court), in the column headed βLower Standard Fee (Β£)β, for β882.47β, substitute β822.47β .

2012 c. 10 ; section 42(1) of that Act provides that in Part 1 of that Act, β regulations β means regulations made by the Lord Chancellor (except in Schedule 6).
S.I. 2013/425 ,βto be amended by S.I. 2024/1163 which comes into force on 6th December 2024; there are other amending instruments but none is relevant.
