The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (β€œ the Association ”) has applied to the Legal Services Board (β€œ the Board ”) under section 45(3)(a) of the Legal Services Act 2007 (β€œ the Act ”)( 1 ). The Board has made a recommendation to the Lord Chancellor under section 45(3) of the Act, on the basis that the Association has complied with the requirements of section 45(3)(a), (b) and (c) of the Act, that an order be made cancelling the Association’s designation as an approved regulator in relation to probate activities.

The Lord Chancellor makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 45(1)(a) of the Act.

In accordance with section 206(5) of the Act, a draft of this instrument was laid before Parliament and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament.

Cancellation of designation as approved regulator

2. The designation of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants as an approved regulator in relation to probate activities( 2 ) is cancelled from the date that this Order comes into force.
