Zoological Society of London (Leases) Act 2024

2024 CHAPTER 20

An Act to amend the Crown Estate Act 1961 to increase the maximum term of the lease that may be granted to the Zoological Society of London in respect of land in Regent’s Park.

B e it enacted by the King’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Maximum term of leases for Zoological Society of London I1

In section 7(2) of the Crown Estate Act 1961(power of the Secretary of State to grant leases to the Zoological Society of London in relation to certain land in Regent’s Park), for “sixty years” substitute “150 years” .

2 Extent, commencement and short title I2

(1) This Act extends to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

(2) This Act comes into force at the end of the period of two months beginning with the day on which it is passed.

(3) This Act may be cited as the Zoological Society of London (Leases) Act 2024.
