The Domestic Abuse Act 2021 (Amendment) Regulations 2024

The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 15(4)(a) of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021( 1 ).

In accordance with section 15(5) of that Act, the Secretary of State has consulted the Commissioner( 2 ).

Citation, commencement and extent

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 (Amendment) Regulations 2024 and come into force on 16th April 2024.

(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales.

Amendment to the Domestic Abuse Act 2021

2. In section 15 of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 (duty to co-operate with Commissioner)( 3 ), at the end of subsection (3) insert—

(r) the Independent Office for Police Conduct. .

Section 15 has been amended by paragraph 103 of Schedule 5 to the Health and Care Act 2022 (c. 31) . There are other amendments, but none is relevant.
