The Secretary of State, with the consent of the Treasury, makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 21(1) and (3) of, and paragraph 3(1) and (2) of Schedule 1 to, the Recall of MPs Act 2015( 1 ).
Citation, commencement and extent
1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Recall Petition (Petition Officers’ Charges) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 and come into force on the day after the day on which they are made.
(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales and Scotland.
Amendment of the Recall Petition (Petition Officers’ Charges) Regulations 2024
2. —(1)The Recall Petition (Petition Officers’ Charges) Regulations 2024( 2 ) are amended as follows.
(2) In the table in Schedule 2 (maximum recoverable amount for specified expenses), for the row containing the entry for “renting, heating, lighting and cleaning any building or room”, substitute—
“ Renting, heating, lighting and cleaning any building or room | £9,932.50 per designated signing place | £12,415.62 per designated signing place | £11,918.99 per designated signing place ” |
