The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 4(3) and 15A(4)(b) of Regulation 1 ).
Citation, commencement and extent
1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Aviation Security (Amendment) Regulations 2024.
(2) These Regulations come into force on 1st June 2024.
(3) These Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Amendment of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998
2. —(1) The Annex to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998 2 ) is amended as follows.
(2) Omit Chapters 6 (cargo and mail), 8 (in-flight supplies) and 12 (security equipment).
(3) In Chapter 7 (air carrier mail and air carrier materials)—
(a) omit point 7.0; and
(b) omit point 7.1.1.
(4) In Chapter 9 (airport supplies)—
(a) in point 9.0.2, for paragraph (c), substitute—
“ (c) ‘LAGs’ means liquids, aerosols and gels, which include pastes, lotions, mixtures of liquids and solids and the contents of pressurised containers. Examples of LAGs include toothpaste, hair gel, drinks, soups, syrups, shaving foam and other items, with similar consistencies; and ” ; and
(b) in point 9.0.2, for paragraph (d), substitute—
“ (d) ‘STEB’ means a security tamper-evident bag. ” .
