The Animal Welfare (Livestock Exports) Act 2024 (Commencement) (England) Regulations 2024

The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by section 7(2)(a) of the Animal Welfare (Livestock Exports) Act 2024( 1 ).

Citation, extent and application

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Animal Welfare (Livestock Exports) Act 2024 (Commencement) (England) Regulations 2024.

(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales.

(3) These Regulations apply in relation to England.

Provisions coming into force on 22nd July 2024

2. The following provisions of the Animal Welfare (Livestock Exports) Act 2024 come into force on 22nd July 2024—

(a) section 1 (prohibition of export of livestock for slaughter);

(b) section 5(a) and (c) (connected repeals in relation to horses).
