The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 29(5) and (7) of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 (“ the Act ”)( 1 ).

The Secretary of State has consulted in accordance with section 29(4) of the Act.

In accordance with section 29(5) and (7) of the Act, a draft of these Regulations was laid before and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.

Citation, commencement and extent

1. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 (Risk of Being Drawn into Terrorism) (Revised Guidance) Regulations 2024.

(2) These Regulations come into force on 19th August 2024.

(3) These Regulations extend to England and Wales and Scotland.

Revised guidance under section 29

2. The “Prevent duty guidance for Scotland: Guidance for specified authorities in Scotland” issued by the Secretary of State on 7th May 2024 in accordance with section 29(6) of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 takes effect on the day on which this regulation comes into force.
