The Secretary of State makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 37(5) and 90(3)(a) of the Climate Change Act 2008( 1 ).

Citation, commencement and extent

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Response to the Committee on Climate Change Report (Extension of Period) Order 2024 and comes into force on 14th October 2024.

(2) This Order extends to the United Kingdom.

Extension of the period for the response to the Committee on Climate Change’s 2024 report

2. —(1) The Secretary of State’s response under section 37 of the Climate Change Act 2008 to the Committee’s( 2 ) 2024 report must be laid before Parliament not later than 19th December 2024.

(2) In this article, the “ Committee’s 2024 report ” means the report of the Committee under section 36 of the Climate Change Act 2008 laid before Parliament on 18th July 2024( 3 ).
