The King’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

His Majesty by and with the advice of His Privy Council, in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 2(1)(za) of Schedule 9 to the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009( 1 ), makes the following Order:

Citation and Commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Chief Regulator of Qualifications and Examinations Order 2025 and comes into force on 6th February 2025.

Extent and Application

2. —(1) This Order extends to England and Wales.

(2) This Order applies in relation to England only.

Appointment of chief executive of the Office of Qualifications and Examinations

3. Sir Ian Bauckham is appointed as the chief executive of the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation and is to be known as the Chief Regulator of Qualifications and Examinations, from 6th February 2025.
