His Majesty, in exercise of the power conferred by section 2(1A) of the Carriage by Air Act 1961( 1 ), is pleased, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows.
Citation, commencement and extent
1. β(1) This Order may be cited as the Carriage by Air (Revision of Limits of Liability under the Montreal Convention) Order 2025 and comes into force on 7th February 2025.
(2) This Order extends to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Superseding of the Carriage by Air (Revision of Limits of Liability under the Montreal Convention) Order 2021
2. This Order supersedes the Carriage by Air (Revision of Limits of Liability under the Montreal Convention) Order 2021( 2 ).
Certification of the revision of limits of liability under the Montreal Convention
3. The revised limits of liability established under Articles 21 and 22 of the Montreal Convention( 3 ) are as certified in the third column of the table.

1961 c. 27 ; section 2(1A) was inserted by the Carriage by Air Acts (Implementation of the Montreal Convention 1999) Order 2002 ( S.I. 2002/263 ), article 2(4).
S.I. 2021/1448 ; that Order is superseded using the power in section 2(3) of the Carriage by Air Act 1961.
