The Secretary of State makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 150(3) and (4)(c) of the Welfare Reform Act 2012(1).

Citation, commencement, extent and application

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Welfare Reform Act 2012 (Commencement No. 30 and Transitory Provisions) (Amendment) (England) Order 2026.

(2) It comes into force on 17th August 2026.

(3) It extends to England and Wales, but applies only in relation to England.

Amendment of the Welfare Reform Act 2012 (Commencement No. 30 and Transitory Provisions) Order 2018

2. In the Welfare Reform Act 2012 (Commencement No. 30 and Transitory Provisions) Order 2018(2)—

(a)after article 2 (appointed day) insert—

Cessation of eligibility for a free school lunch in respect of certain persons

2A. A person who, on 16th August 2026 was eligible for a free school lunch by virtue of the transitory provision in article 3 of this Order, as it was in force on that date, ceases to be so eligible on 17th August 2026.;

(b)omit article 3 (transitory provisions).
