The Education (Listed Bodies) (England) Order 2002

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 216(2) of the Education Reform Act 1988( 1 ), the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Order:

1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Education (Listed Bodies) (England) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 23rd May 2002.

(2) This Order extends to England only( 2 ).

2. The bodies which are specified in the Schedule to this Order comprise all those bodies which appear to the Secretary of State to fall within section 216(3) of the Education Reform Act 1988.

3. The Education (Listed Bodies) (England) Order 2000( 3 ) is hereby revoked.

The Secretary of State can exercise the power under section 216(2) only in relation to England: see article 2 of and Schedule 1 to the National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/672 ). The Secretary of State’s functions were transferred, in or as regards to Scotland, to the Scottish Ministers by virtue of section 53 of the Scotland Act 1998 (c. 46) .
