The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty In Council

Her Majesty, in pursuance of sections 1(1) and 1(4) of the School Inspections Act 1996( 1 ), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Education (Chief Inspector of Schools in England) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 31st March 2002.

2. David Robert Bell is hereby appointed Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Schools in England for a period of 5 years from 1st May 2002.

3. The Education (Chief Inspector of Schools in England) Order 2000( 2 ) and the Education (Chief Inspector of Schools in England) Order 2001( 3 ) are hereby revoked.
