Whereas a draft of this Order has been laid before Parliament on the recommendation of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs and has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament;
Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 2(2) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971( 1 ), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:โ
1. This Order shall be cited as the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (Modification) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 1st July 2003.
2. โ(1)Schedule 2 to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971( 2 ) (which specifies the drugs which are subject to control under that Act) shall be amended as follows:
(2) In paragraph 1(a) of Part I of that Schedule there shall be insertedโ
(a) after โDihydrocodeinone O-carboxymethyloximeโ, โDihydroetorphineโ; and
(b) after โRacemorphanโ, โRemifentanil.โ.
(3) In paragraph 1(a) of Part III of that Schedule, there shall be insertedโ
(a) after โHaloxazolamโ, โ4-Hydroxy-n-butyric acidโ; and
(b) after โN-Ethylamphetamineโ, โZolpidemโ.
(4) In paragraph 1(b) of Part III of that Schedule, there shall be insertedโ
(a) before โAtamestaneโ, โ4-Androstene-3, 17-dioneโ and โ5-Androstene-3, 17-diolโ; and
(b) after โNandroloneโ, โ19-Nor-4-Androstene-3, 17-dioneโ; and โ19-Nor-5-Androstene-3, 17-diolโ.
