The Education (Recognised Bodies) (England) Order 2003

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 216(1) of the Education Reform Act 1988( 1 ), the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Order:

Citation, commencement and extent

1. This Order may be cited as the Education (Recognised Bodies) (England) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 1st August 2003.

2. This Order extends to England only.

Revocation

3.The Education (Recognised Bodies) (England) Order 2000( 2 ) is hereby revoked.

Recognised bodies

4. The bodies which are specified in the Schedule are hereby designated as bodies which appear to the Secretary of State to be recognised bodies.

SCHEDULE

( 1 )

1988 c. 40 . By virtue of the National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/672 ), the powers conferred by these provisions are exercisable by the Secretary of State only in relation to England. By virtue of section 53 of the Scotland Act 1998 (c. 46) , the functions of the Secretary of State under the Education Reform Act 1988 were transferred, in or as regards Scotland, to the Scottish Ministers.
