The Asylum Support (Amendment) (No.2) Regulations 2003

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 166(3) of, and paragraphs 1 and 3(a) of Schedule 8 to, the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999( 1 ), hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Asylum Support (Amendment) (No.2) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 7th April 2003.

Kind and levels of support for essential living needs

2. For the table at regulation 10(2) of the Asylum Support Regulations 2000( 2 ), substitute:

Qualifying couple £60.03
Lone parent aged 18 or over £38.26
Single person aged 25 or over £38.26
Single person aged at least 18 but under 25 £30.28
Person aged at least 16 but under 18 (except a member of a qualifying couple) £32.90
Person aged under 16 £38.50

Revocation of the Asylum Support (Amendment) (No.2) Regulations 2002

3.The Asylum Support (Amendment) (No.2) Regulations 2002( 3 ) are hereby revoked.
