The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 178(8) and (9) of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005( 1 ):

1. This Order may be cited as the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 (Commencement No.9 and Amendment) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 15th August 2006.

2. Section 163(2) of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005, insofar as it relates to section 113B (10)(h) of the Police Act 1997, shall come into force on 25th September 2006 in England and Wales only.

3. In the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 (Commencement) (No. 7) Order 2006 ( 2 ), for the words “(No. 7)” in the title and in article 1 (citation) substitute “(No. 8)”.
