Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers in section 2(5)(b) and (6)(b) of the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993( 1 ), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Health Service Commissioner for England (Special Health Authorities) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 1 st April 2006.

Designation as body subject to investigation

2. The NHS Business Services Authority (Awdurdod Gwasanaethau Busnes y GIG)( 2 ) is designated as a Special Health Authority to which section 2(1) of the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993 (bodies subject to investigation by the Health Service Commissioner for England) ( 3 ) applies.

1993 c. 46 ; section 2(5) was amended by sections 112 and 152 of, and paragraph 3(3) of Schedule 10 and Part 1 of Schedule 18 to, the Government of Wales Act 1998 (c. 38) (โ€œthe 1998 Actโ€); section 2(6) was substituted by section 112 of, and paragraph 3(4) of Schedule 10 to, the 1998 Act.
