The Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families makes the following regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3(1), (3) and (4) of the Education (Schools) Act 1997( 1 ):
Citation, commencement and application
1. β(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Assisted Places) (Incidental Expenses) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2009 and come into force on 1st September 2009.
(2) These Regulations apply in relation to a school year beginning on or after that date.
(3) These Regulations apply only in relation to England.
Amendment of the Education (Assisted Places) (Incidental Expenses) Regulations 1997
2. β(1)The Education (Assisted Places) (Incidental Expenses) Regulations 1997( 2 ) are amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 2β
(a) in paragraph (2), for βΒ£14,443β substitute βΒ£15,122β;
(b) in paragraph (3), for sub-paragraphs (a) and (b) substituteβ
β (a) Β£94 where the relevant income does not exceed Β£14,019; and
(b) Β£48 where that income exceeds Β£14,019, but does not exceed Β£15,122. β
(3) In regulation 4β
(a) in paragraph (3), for βΒ£13,410β substitute βΒ£14,032β; and
(b) in paragraph (4)β
(i) for βΒ£13,410β substitute βΒ£14,032β; and
(ii) for βΒ£13,231β substitute βΒ£13,853β.
